We are so excited to finally introduce our new website!
www.poshpartiesonline.com
Here you can find out all you need to know about Posh Parties & Paper. With this new site, you will also be able to see current galleries of events we have done. It is great to finally be able to share all of our hard work and the work of the fabulous vendors who help make it all happen.
I'd like to thank my web designer, Marisia Amirian, for making it all happen the way I envisioned.
My goal is going to be to try to start using the blog to showcase and highlight some of our own events, along with our beautiful and creative invitation ensembles we put together.
Looking forward to an exciting 2009!!

glamourously glittered notecards

One of our newest favorite things....glittered notecards by Jenny Sweeney Designs. These notecards are perfect for sending out fun thank you notes and they make an amazing gift idea! The concept behind these cards is that you choose a paper color, an icon and a glitter color and then you personalize it!

Posh Parties featured on the news!
Thought I would take a minute to share that I was featured on the local NBC station today. They were doing a story about how to have a wedding on a budget without sacrificing style. No matter what the budget, everyone can use creative ways to save a dollar here and there.
When I work with my brides, I always ask what is most important to them and what do they want their special day to be about. I take all of that into consideration when helping my clients manage their budget.
Here were my top tips on how to save without making it noticable:
1) Shop sample sales for your wedding dress. Top designers always have sample sales where you can buy the dress off the rack for over 40% off the retail prices. Get a great tailor and have it taken in to fit you like a glove!

2) Choose a dj over a band
3) Be conscious of your guest list. There's no need to add mom's best friend's co-worker if you are trying to save. Keep it intimate and only invite your closest friends and family.
4) Serve your wedding cake as your dessert. By the time your guests get to dessert, they are either stuffed or too busy dancing, so serve your cake along with a selection of hot teas and coffee...no one will go home hungry!

5) Opt for flowers that are in season vs. put-of season. This will save you bundles on your centerpieces!

6) Be open-minded about your wedding date. Some venues have better deals when they are off peak. This will also help your out of town guests looking to book reasonable hotel rooms to stay in as well as airfare.
All in all, it's important to know that even if you have a strict budget, you can still have the wedding of your dreams....just be creative!

escort card tip
I've had the same etiquette question come up twice in the last week, so I thought it would be informative to answer via the blog.
Q: If someone is bringing a guest to my wedding, do I write their name on the same escort card as the person I invited, even though they are not married?
A: Yes, if you invite someone with a guest, their name should certainly go on the same escort card as the person you invited. Put your friend's name first, and then their guest's name, even if it is not alphabetical that way. It's always best to find out the name of the person they are bringing to avoid having to write "and guest" on an escort card. It will make the guest feel more welcome.
If you have any other etiquette questions, you can always email us through our website at www.poshpartiesonline.com.
Have a nice day!

Create Your Own Bridesmaids Gowns
I found a great company where you can create your own bridesmaids gowns. They have over 75 colors to choose from and a variety of fabrics. I love how you can give your bridesmaids the color scheme and they can create a design that is perfect for them! The designer is Lynn Lugo. On her site, she has an interactive dress creator where you can select, step by step, your dress & all of the options that go with.

With every party, comes a cake. From birthdays to weddings, cakes are essentially a focal point of a very delicious dessert. Thre's no better way to highlight your cake than to have it not only be decadent in taste, but in looks as well. There a company in South Florida, We Take the Cake, that creates the most magnificent cakes I have ever seen! Cakes start at $10 per person anad go up from there...
